Greg Coleman

Greg Coleman is an inspirational speaker, gifted storyteller and transformational expert, teaching leaders and business owners how to Flip the Field, get a Leg Up on Life, and Shift the Atmosphere in their companies and organizations using proven principles. He has spoken across the country to a diverse group of corporations, community organizations and associations, as well as faith-based institutions.
Some of his most notable distinctions are of being the first African American punter in the NFL and his induction into the 2021 class of the Black College Football Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the State of Florida Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023. For 21 years, he served as the Sideline Analyst for the Minnesota Vikings Radio Network. He recently retired at the end of the 2021 NFL season. Other recognitions include being a member of the Vikings’ 25th and 40th Anniversary Team, Florida A&M University Hall of Fame, State of Florida Track & Field Hall of Fame, Bob Hayes Track and Field Hall of Fame, and the All-Time Black College Football Team. In 2000, he founded the Greg Coleman Celebrity Golf Tournament that benefits the YMCAs after school tutoring, mentoring and life skills programs in the Twin Cities – which has raised almost $3 million for young people in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis St. Paul. He was awarded the Greg Coleman Golden Touch Award, given to a top African American Punter or Kicker from an HBCU Institution.
Greg has a special passion for business, civic leaders and public safety workers charged with leadership in our communities. He spent 24 years as a C-level Executive at an international communications company in their public safety market. During that tenure he served on the advisory boards of NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives), MN National Guard, MCCA (Major City Chiefs Association), MCSA (Major County Sheriffs Association) FBINA, Florida Chiefs Association, and Florida Sheriffs Association. Greg also serves as the Executive Director of the Bob Hayes Track Meet, one of the largest one-day High School meets in the country.
All of these personal achievements in sports and corporate America have given Greg a Leg Up on Life and he is ready to Flip the Field and share these keys to his success in his recently launched speaking business, “Greg Coleman8 Speaks”. He recently published his first book, PUNT – Flip the Field and Get a Leg Up On Life.
Greg is from Jacksonville, Florida, attended Raines HS and is a graduate of Florida A&M University. He is an ordained minister and founder of “Touch from Him Ministries.” Along with his wife Eleanor, they have 2 adult children along with a foster daughter and 9 grandchildren. He is a member of Potters House International Ministries in Jacksonville Florida. Both he and Eleanor are avid and enthusiastic golfers.
