Tim McCormick

Tim grew up in Clarkston, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. He spent ten seasons in the NBA as a player. He was drafted by Cleveland with the #12 pick in the 1984 draft and was traded to Washington and then Seattle. Tim played for the Seattle Supersonics, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, and New York Knicks.
Tim has worked for the National Basketball Players Association for the last 30 years as is currently the Senior Regional Director of Player Programs. He is also the director of the NBA Players Association’s TOP 100 Basketball Camp for the elite 100 high school players in the nation.
Tim provides color analysis as a college basketball broadcaster for the ESPN Network and NBC Sports. He is also the current studio analyst for Bally Sports Detroit covering the Detroit Pistons on their pre-game, post-game, and half-time shows. He is currently in his 30th year of broadcasting.
Tim is the co-founder, along with Mike Dietz, of the Michigan Elite 25 youth basketball program for the elite high school players from across the state of Michigan. He provides free basketball camps, educational mentoring and leadership training for local athletes in grades 6 – 12. The E25 Program has just completed its ninth year.
